A New Catamaran!

Well, it’s new to us, anyways… So having spent almost 4 years on our previous cat, cruising tens of thousands of miles all those years ago as a young family, my wife and I are soon to be empty-nesters.

While in Granada to cover the ARC+, our editor-in-chief paid me a surprise visit aboard!

But how do you deal with all the emotional upheaval dumped on you by that particular life event? To us, it seemed obvious: sell the farm and buy another catamaran!

And given that technology has advanced so much in the intervening years, I can continue to work from any anchorage I choose. So, when a very rare owner’s version of our old boat appeared on the market, it seemed like a no-brainer. The space advertised by the shipyard as a vanity, though used by the previous owner as a workshop, will transform admirably into a desk/office area. All that remains to do is a ton of work to bring this older boat up to scratch (things are a little chaotic on board at the moment), oh, and to find the motivation to work from that anchorage I chose! We’re out on the hard right now but scheduled to splash tomorrow. If I can get the windlass working…
