Incidence Sails

A new, stronger, recyclable sailcloth

Having spent two years testing during offshore races, sailmaker Incidence Sails has decided to incorporate Canadian ALUULA Durlyte™ fabric.

This lightweight, strong, ready-to-recycle composite material proved particularly suitable for hard-worked sail reinforcements such as batten pockets, boltropes and chafe-prone areas such as near stanchions and spreaders. This new sailcloth is 10 times stronger than equivalent materials and also offers a remarkably smooth surface. ALUULA Durlyte™ also has the added benefit of not absorbing water and housing bacteria. This unique polymer accepts heat-welding and is thermoformable.
