HouseBoat

An electric and self-sufficient catamaran for inland waterways

The catamaran formula has long had a grip on pontoon boats, platforms dedicated to leisure on the water... so it’s no wonder that riverboats are following the same trend.

In addition to increased stability and maximum habitability, the rectangular deck makes for easier docking and passage through locks. In this category of river catamarans, the builder Ibaïa Boats (based in France’s Bassin d'Arcachon region) brings the Forever Green touch with electric propulsion powered by 270 square feet (25 m²) of solar panels and construction in plywood. River water filtration and wastewater treatment systems allow for ecological and fully self-sufficient use, without the need to be connected to shore-based facilities. With a length of 53 feet (16.25 m) and 14½ feet in the beam, the HouseBoat has a living area of 540 square feet (50 m²). The catamaran can accommodate up to six people, and offers a double bedroom, an office/guest bedroom, a saloon with pellet stove and convertible sofa, a fully fitted galley, a bathroom, a toilet and finally three terraces spread over two levels. The boat is fully glazed, allowing you to enjoy the view and exceptional light.
