The three powercat models in Fountaine Pajot’s Motor Yacht range (MY4S, MY5 and MY6) are to be manufactured by the Couach shipyard from October.
Founded in 1897 and based in Gujan-Mestras, on the shores of the Bay of Arcachon in southwest France, Couach designs and builds yachts and coastal surveillance vessels ranging from 11 to 50 meters in length. This unprecedented agreement will mean Fountaine Pajot can free up capacity for the production of its larger catamarans (Samana 59, Alegria 67 and Power 67) at its base in La Rochelle. The Aigrefeuille shipyard is dedicated to intermediate-sized sailing models and the Périgny shipyard to Dufour monohulls. This arrangement will surely flourish, given the pressure on order books and the legitimate reluctance to make heavy investments, and could significantly increase the builders’ production.
