In order to better reflect the potential of their models, and particularly the space available on board, Fountaine Pajot are renaming the MY40, the “MY 5” and the MY44, the “MY 6”. These are subtle and ultimately logical names when you consider that these two powercats offer the equivalent surface area of 50- and 60-foot monohull motor yachts respectively. But what about the MY37, you might wonder? That’s the big announcement for the beginning of this new year from the La Rochelle shipyard: the launch at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival of a brand new MY 4S. A Sport Top catamaran, with no flybridge for this entry-level model, but with a new Openroof concept well suited to this size of boat. It is the result of a joint effort between Pierangelo Andreoni and the shipyard's Design Team, and the MY 4S of course inaugurates new exterior lines, but also an interior that conforms to the 2021 vintage - which will be available throughout the range from May: furniture with contemporary curves, new colors for the woodwork, and marble-effect Corian. Everything is therefore being done to ensure that the perceived quality is of the highest level. The performances announced for the MY 4S are in line with market norms, with a cruising speed of 15 to 17 knots on average, and 21 knots top speed.
