Marc Pajot is presenting his latest project, due to be built by the Wider shipyard: this is a luxury 112-foot catamaran with 100% electric pod-propulsion by pod.
The design is reminiscent of the Eco Yacht 110 presented last year; no surprise given that the 112 is the motor version. The drivetrain will comprise at least 2 x 350 kW, with a battery bank that should allow the multiyacht to cover about 30 miles in coastal waters with zero emissions. Once offshore, 220 kWh generators will take over in order to maintain a cruising speed of 12 knots - 16 at top speed. However, 1,075 sq ft (100 m²) of solar panels will provide sufficient power for on-board consumption without having to resort to the generators. The architect Nicolas Fauroux and the builder Wider are working on hydrogen energy production options to further improve the C02 balance. Foils are also being studied. A look at the plans suggests exceptional comfort: In addition to the two VIP aft cabins, two others are installed forward in the nacelle, with breathtaking views over the water. The pilot house is located on the upper deck so that the captain can enjoy perfect visibility. All the finishing touches of this exceptional platform of nearly 5,500 square feet (500 square meters) of usable space can be specified by the client.
