Crossing the finish line at 10.30 am on Tuesday July 21st, Maxi Edmond de Rothschild (Franck Cammas/Charles Caudrelier) won the Ultim class in the DRHEAM-CUP 1100. In the Multi50 class in the DRHEAM-CUP 700, there was a second consecutive win for Solidaires en Peloton-ARSEP (Thibaut Vauchel-Camus).
After the Fastnet and the Brest Atlantiques races in 2019, Maxi Edmond de Rothschild continued her success with, for the first time, the DRHEAM-CUP/GRAND PRIX DE FRANCE DE COURSE AU LARGE in her sights. The crew of Franck Cammas and Charles Caudrelier, assisted by Yann Eliès, Morgan Lagravière, David Boileau and Yann Riou, were to spend the entire race in the lead, being ahead from the start, along the northern coast of the Cotentin peninsula, off Normandy, against Sodebo Ultim 3 (Thomas Coville) and Actual Leader (Yves Le Blevec). From then on, the Verdier-designed boat was able to lengthen her stride and enjoy a night at very high speeds, with in particular an hour spent above an average of 40 knots.
