Atlantic Records

Heavy traffic in the Atlantic on the return route from The Bridge. Having left first from New York, Francis Joyon aboard his faithful Idec was the first to take the singlehanded Atlantic record in a time of 5 days, 2 hours and 7 minutes, beating his own record by 49 minutes.

3 days later, it was Thomas Coville’s turn to cross the line at the Lizard (south coast of England) in a time of 4 days, 11 hours, 10 minutes and 23 seconds, thus taking the singlehanded Atlantic record by a margin of 15 hours and 45 minutes.

After the crewed and singlehanded round the world records, 2017 has been kind to both sailors!
