If ever there was a need to confirm the popularity of ocean rallies, it’s the growing involvement of multihull builders in this type of event.
As proof, among the 45 multihulls on the startline of the ARC 2024 in Las Palmas, we were able to discover two new boats just launched, the C-Cat 38 Bellamossa Città di Fiumicino and the MC75 Jack. These two catamarans, in addition to being, as yet unknown to the public, were also the smallest and second-largest participants in the event - after the Sunreef 80 Mischievous.
So the ARC 2024, as well as being the world’s most popular transatlantic rally, has become somewhat of a boat show! But these two catamarans weren't there to make up the numbers: Jack crossed the Atlantic in less than 15 days, and Bellamossa came first in Class B ahead of 21 other competitors! The skipper of the C-Cat 38, none other than Massimo Guardigli, the boss of the shipyard, intelligently managed the time his engines were in use - despite limited fuel carried.
But the question is: will the C-Cat 38 and MC75 be nominated for Multihull Of The Year 2025? Find out on February 12!
