120 for the Rhum

There will finally be 120 singlehanders at the start of the next Route du Rhum, on 4th November 2018, 40 years after the first edition. 

A new record, as the organizers had at first voluntarily limited the number of boats to 100. But there was such a demand, that they were obliged to increase the number of participants!

Once again this year, the multihulls should be putting on a show, with notably the Ultim class (the new Maxis Edmond de Rothschild, Banque Populaire IX, as well as Macif, Idec Sport and Sodebo Ultim), which could well beat Loick Peyron’s  record of 7 days and 15 hours, set in 2014…
