It would have been easy to imagine that multihull builders would seriously be shortening sail by now, but in reality, we’ve never featured so many «NEW» boats when it came time to complete our essential Buyer’s Guide. This bodes well for the coming year. Certainly, shipyards that are heavily involved in the charter market are doing their utmost, but all the manufacturers that offer “Owner” versions are filling up with orders. For all of us, the desire to sail on two or three hulls is now stronger than ever, even if all stopovers are not yet possible at the time of a second wave of COVID-19 in the northern hemisphere. In this issue, we take stock of the situation for blue water cruisers.
A few changes to point out to you before we dive right into our biggest magazine of the year: in this MW #175, we‘re focusing on sailing multihulls from 20 to 70 feet. Slightly fewer models than last year (140 as opposed 190), but 20 pages more (60 rather than 40) to offer you more pictures, and fuller features. This Buyer’s Guide also has the ambition to be a virtual boat show at a time when we miss real boat shows so much. In our digital version, you will discover videos, pictures and links for all the sailing multihulls presented here. More than ever, paper and digital versions are complementary, now is the time to convince you! What about motor multihulls? They haven’t disappeared from our radar screens, quite the contrary: for the first time, we have just dedicated a complete special edition to them. So, in our Special Edition #15 you’ll find the Power Multihull Buyer’s Guide, with 70 multipowers featured. As for the superyacht side, our Multiyacht special edition will be appearing soon...
